Shoots
I can put together a camera crew, shooting in PAL HD or
miniDVCAM at either 4:3 or 16:9 for covering concerts, conferences and other
similar events. All my crew are experienced and have directed films and
documentaries of their own. Its usual to have at least a week to plan a shoot, visit the site if possible and develop a strategy.
Audio
Great sound can make an ordinary video or film into a majical experience. Poor sound will destroy even the best shots. We always try to capture the audio in as flexible format as possible. Often this means a 24 or 48 track audio recording - using the HD24 HD recorder as well as the camera audio for ambience and sync. This approcah give total freedom of movement for the operators and the optional use of the camera ambience for audience response etc.
The audio mix then becomes the backbone of the vision mix, from which the shots are sync'd and edited. For 5.1 mixes the caera audio become a useful source for 'size information'
There are other ways of working but I find this the best and quickest way of doing videos for music and performance.
Editing
I edit in Premiere Pro and Canopus Edius Pro and can handle 12 video streams with ease.
Output to NTSC or PAL region Zero as required. I
really enjoy creative editing and the artistic use of effects.
On the next page - recent video projects - you can see details of some work completed recently
Animation
Some of my recent projects have featured 2D animations and
animated menus to great effect. I have friends working in 3D animation who I use from time to time, for that special touch.
Authoring
I use DVDit PRO for authoring animated menus, custom layered
buttons, slide shows – the content is up to you!
